Happiness is a sense or feeling of pleasure, contentment, joy and enthusiasm about an event.

Happiness is in most cases introduced by an event and when our present event calls for the opposite, we can make conscious efforts to switch the sadness to happiness.

A well-known hit single by Bobby McFerrin says ‘Don’t Worry, Be happy’.

This song over the years have been an appreciated way of conveying a message that everybody must or should be happy no matter the problem or changes they may be having in their lives.

For anyone to live his desired, fulfilled and optimistic life, he or she must feel wonderful about his/her self, as it also boosts your immunity against diseases and stress.

Stress is responsible for most, if not all the sicknesses in humanity such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

A popular Quote says ‘The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change’. One truth about us humans is that we cannot change others but we can change ourselves.

Even if we find ourselves in an unendurable circumstance we can be rest assured that it will never be permanent.

Relationships and social networking are vital tools to happiness.

We must learn to accept others for whom and what they are, avoid argument, resentment and clashes that can lead to violence.

If argument seems to be inevitable then we must try to understand the other person and let go. Socializing with loved ones and friends can be wonderful and can also help in stabilizing one’s health.

A former American President, Abraham Lincoln once said most times people can choose to be happy or stressed, to berelaxed or troubled, and to be bright or dull.

These choices are ours to make.

Have you ever try to make your self happy when sad?

Ways of Been Consciously Happy

1. AN ATTITUDE OF BEEN GRATEFUL IN ALL AND FOR ALL

Make a conscious effort to be grateful for the very big and small things that have happened in your life and in the lives of those around you. Such as - thank God you woke up this morning; thank the taxi driver that drove you to your school or office; thank your mum/maid for the delicious meal cooked; thank your cleaner at the office for cleaning it even though you are their employer; saying thank you for everything and to everybody.

2. REDUCING YOUR RECEPTION OF NEGATIVE NEWS

News these days are always negative. Listening to news is not bad but the news that markets today is the bad news. If you can reduce the news you listen to which are negative, then you can reduce those negative injections into your being and you can have more reason to be happy and less reason to be sad.

JOINING A RELIGION YOU ARE CONVINCED TO JOIN

Join an active religion that you are convinced to join, not by force, such as Christianity. The songs of psalms and hymn can bring a sense of calmness or peace to one heart.

MANAGEMENT OF YOUR TIME

Time is very valuable to be lost for any reason. If we can manage our time we can achieve the greatest desire which will bring a sense of fulfillment and this will definitely make us happy. Time management includes the following.

  1. Setting desired goal(s) to achieve
  2. Planning ways to achieving our desired goal(s)
  3. Scheduling our daily goal getting event
  4. Getting a TO DO LIST and
  5. Setting priorities

FINDING AN OPPORTUNITY TO LAUGH

Laughter is also a medicine to a sick body. Watch funny movies (comedies) that will make you laugh; tell jokes to people around you if you have and can. Laughter is just like a motivational speaker to the body System; it motivates your body to work at its peak in resolving and bringing the body to perfect health.

EXPRESS YOURSELF FREELY

It is very important that you express yourself freely emotionally, passionately, with your family, friends, with those around you and also express whatever you are passionate about.Don’t hide any of the above; it will only make you sad if you do. Remember that your feelings should be express in such a way that it will not hurt others.
