Power of the Spoken Word

Updated on October 31, 2012

The Spoken word of God is what brought the whole world and all that is in it to be. So the spoken word of God is established but God expects us to do something good to our lives by choosing to speak rightly. The word of god says that life death is in the power of the tongue, so speak life to yourself (Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof).

In Proverbs (proverbs 12: 18 - There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health) the bible says “There is that speaketh like the piercing of a sword: the tongue of the wise is health. Also in Proverbs (Proverbs 10:13, 24:3-4)

Spiritual things are created by word, so also natural and physical things are created by words. God, who is a spirit, said, “Let there be light”, let there be an earth and there was light and there was the earth”. Jesus said…..whosoever shall say….. Shall have whatsoever he says (Mark 11:23, 24).

Proverbs 10:11 says “The mouth of a righteous man is well of life…

For example: Children are a product of words! So watch it whatever you say concerning your child, he will turn to be the same thing. So if you know the word of word and you realize that it is your responsibility to train up this child in the way he should go, and when he is old, it will not depart from it, and knowing that children are taught in two ways: By precept and by example, then you live right in front of this child, and set the right examples for the child and remember that the Bible says you can have what you so whatsoever you say to your child and over the child is what the child will be, so speak word of life concerning your child and others and minister life with your words. And because, “for by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned” (Mathew 12:37)

Jesus himself made the above statement so words are much more important that many people realize.

Remember Job and his three so-called friends who came to comfort him? Job’s cry to those who came as comforters and stayed as tormentors was “How long will ye vex my soul, AND BREAK ME IN PICES WITH WORD? (Job 19:2).

Words make us break us

Words heal us or make us sick

Words destroy us or make us full of life, happiness and health.

Words that we spoke yesterday make life what it is today. And that agrees with what Jesus said in (Mark 11:23), “he shall have whatsoever he SAITH”. And that means he shall have the word that he speaks” therefore, speak words of life, happiness, and health, for your mouth is a well of life, so speck only the life with it.

You won’t get the blessing of God, Salvation, healing, or get answers to prayers just because you believe (Proverbs 18:20)

For example (Romans 10:9-10 says “ that if thou shall CONFESS WITH THY MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved” Notice it doesn’t say you’ll be saved just because you believe. The next verse says, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; AND THE MOUTH CONFESSION IS MADE- UNTO SALVATON”

Jesus didn’t conclude (Mark 11:23) by saying you would have whatsoever you believed. He concluded it by saying “……..he shall have whatsoever he saith”

Faith is always expressed in words. The words that you speak – not just on Sunday, in the church or when you pray, but the words you speak in your everyday life, at home, to your children, with your friends, and on your job, in the office or in the market or your business are determines what you have in life.
