The Expense for the Prize | Poem
The exchanger in his trade
The fee in tears he offered
The ultimate Sacrifice paid
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
Not mine will, but your (God)
The price for human stability
That reconciles man back to God
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
A crown of thorns he beared
Acrown of glory and honor
We now receive in God
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
Falsely accused for judgment
Averting judgment to condemnation
For the redemption of Man
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
The stripes on his back
The pain he bore
Enjoyment in health we have
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
The cross he carried
The burden of sin lifted
Give us a lighter yolk
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
Stripped of his clothing
Inputting on us his righteousness
That removes every filthy rag
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
Thirsty, but feed of vinegar
Stream of living water
Our pride possession
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
The giving up of his spirit in death
The infilling of the Holy Spirit
Induced on humanity
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
The sin offering of a son
The eternal life we receive
To be connected to God forever
Never have I wondered-
The expense for the prize
